Clay Center is sometimes known as the "Best Kept Secret in the Midwest", a "Diamond in the Rough", and by many other spectacular names, but for those who live here, we proudly call it "home".

Clay Center takes pride in providing its citizens a modern hospital, an airport, excellent progressive schools, Arts Council, quality retirement facilities, plenty of shopping, growing business and industry, civic organizations, Historical Society and County Museum, Carnegie Library, quality day care for children and Leisure Center for senior citizens.

Clay Center is located on the cross roads of Highway 24 and 15 and at the edge of the Flint Hills.

For recreation, Clay Center has five lovely parks with picnic areas and a zoo, an outdoor swimming pool, a bowling alley, six lighted tennis courts, both a nine-hole public and country club golf course, and eight ball fields. Three free RV Parks are located in Clay Center. Tuttle Creek Lake, Milford Reservoir and the Steve Lloyd Wetlands are all within a few minutes drive. Great hunting and fishing are also a part of the charm of the Clay Center area.

What people do not know about Clay Center... Some may think Clay Center is in the middle of the United States, the middle of Kansas, and/or the middle of nowhere, but in reality, Clay Center is a global community. We have two major manufacturing companies who have been shipping internationally for years. We have a company that makes auto parts for the queen of England, race enthusiasts from the middle east, and even car parts for the last Indiana Jones movie. American Sealant, a product used all over the world is manufactured in Clay Center. And lastly, if something happens to the pool table at the White House, they call Clay Center, Kansas.

Strong traditional values and pleasant safe surrounding make Clay Center a great place to visit and an even better place to live!
