MISSION: The mission of the Clay Center Area Chamber of Commerce is to work in partnership with businesses and professionals to build a healthy economy and improve our quality of life.
The Clay Center Area Chamber of Commerce is a 501(c)(6) organization recognized in good standing with the State of Kansas and IRS. The Chamber is not a department of the City or County. It is an independent organization led by a local board of directors elected from within its own membership.
FUNDING: The Chamber is funded through membership dues (42%), special events (32%), sponsorships (14%), in-kind contributions (9%), Clay County Travel & Tourism (2%), and other (1%). The success of the Clay Center Area Chamber depends solely on the leadership of its board of directors, continued support of our investors - our members, sponsors, volunteers, and one staff. FRONT DOOR: The Chamber is the front door to our community. Hundreds of phone calls and visitor inquiries come through the Chamber each year allowing it to serve as your information center. Information requested includes: requests for phone numbers; community event updates and information; City and County information; requests for business referrals; rental property availability; motel information; County travel and tourism infoirmation; huntin and fishing information; RV location information; church information; youth activity information; and relacation information.
CENTER POINT FOR INFORMATION: As the center point of community information, located at 517 Court, we provide business card and brochure display; community education, convention packets, public relations for area businesses, and many network opportunities. We distribute city maps, phone books, represent Clay Center at various connecting events, provide meeting space, answers questions about unemployment, and provide Check Alerts to Chamber members when suspicious checks enter our economic system. Our goal is to promote our members first as THE place to do business. We promote our members equally through various means which include: Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies for new businesses and/or those celebrating special occasions; Chamber Community Events; and the Chamber Report on KNCK every Monday. We also use KCLY, KJIL, and KNCK (all members of the Clay Center Area Chamber of Commerce), along with Twin Valley Telephone, Eagle Communication, the Dispatch, The Chamber Website, Chamber E-News, Chamber Community Coffee and FaceBook to promote our members and numerous Chamber Community Events.
